Meet The Author

Pat Quinn and his CessnaPatrick Quinn is a copywriter, author, trainer and seminar leader with 40 years' experience of the advertising business. Both as an ad agency copy chief / creative director, and as a freelance copywriter, he has operated in London, Dublin, Edinburgh and Miami.

He has published 21 books, including:

The Secrets of Successful Copywriting
The Secrets of Successful Low Budget Advertising
The Secrets of Successful Exhibitions (Butterworth Heinemann)
Word Power - Versions 1 and 2 (Markethill Publishing)

Patrick Quinn has also published thirteen detective fiction novels with New English Library and Robert Hale; and he is the author of a Flying Training manual titled: Ready For Take-Off.

More recent titles are: Thinking On Your Feet (Kogan Page), When Do I Start? (Elliot).

Over the years, he has helped win for his clients just about every advertising award worth winning, including the prestigious Cork Film Festival Grand Prix for Kerrygold Butter (he is, indeed, the only British holder of this award).

Pat has produced concepts and copy for Press Campaigns nationally and internationally. For Direct Mail. Sales Promotion. PR. Radio and Television. Newsletters. And certain UK colleges use his books as a framework for their advertising and copywriting courses.

Pat is a qualified pilot and lives on a farm in the Scottish Borders with his wife Marion. He was recently awarded a combined M.A., Ph.D. and can often be seen, and heard, on the Edinburgh jazz scene where he "plays" drums for the The Standard Bearers.
